From beginning of the Reporting period 2020-21 Society for Leprosy Amelioration & Rehabilitation (SOLAR) family was continued in COVID-19 pandemic Response-2020. Awareness organized on Covid-19 guidelines such as social distancing, use of mask, hand washing and allied information as well as Relief distribution program with active support of the Govt., Oxfam India, and Community & PRI members.
Disaster Risk Reduction programme was a continuation programme in 10 most vulnerable villages of Kanas block in Puri district as pilot basis. Similarly, Providing Access to safe Drinking water in water quality hit flood prone 15 villages of Kanas, Satyabadi and Brahmagiri block in Puri district to provide safe drinking water year the round was an innovative project under Water, sanitation and hygiene promotion- WASH.
Priority paid to smooth organization of 40 nos of Multipurpose cyclone/flood Shelter level mock drill with the support of Govt. of Odisha in 5 blocks (Gop, Nimapada, Satyabadi, Delang and Kanas ) for mass awareness on Disaster preparedness. Shelterlevel committees/Task Forces/Apadamitra/PRI members/ASHA/AWW, accademitians and other community stakeholders took part in the programmes. Besides, important week/Days were observed to create awareness among the people on Odisha Disaster Preparedness Day and National Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, World Health Day, World Environment Day as well as Leprosy Eradication Programme.
