Society for Leprosy Amelioration and Rehabilitation (SOLAR) is a secular, non- profit making, non-government, and non-political organization working in Odisha State, India, since 1985. SOLAR has registered in the FCRA under Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India since 1987. Again the organization has registered 12AA & 80G under Income Tax department, Govt. of India. Initially the organization was started with a mission to generate mass awareness on leprosy Eradication Programme that was rampant in the region and rehabilitate them in their community. Achieving a grand success in its mission, it has spread its activities for overall socio economic development of the poor people with Disabilities and marginalized peoples living in the vulnerable pocket. Presently, SOLAR have taken initiative to focus on Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation, Natural Resource Management, Nursery Generation &Plantation , Livelihood Promotion for PWD, Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH, Women's Empowerment and other Govt. sponsored programmes.
